——环境可持续发展建模:亚洲未来重大挑战

简介


          环境可持续发展对人们的生活,尤其是文明的延续至关重要。环境可持续发展的目的是为了对自然资源消耗及环境保护等一系列重要问题提供解决方案。建模和模拟是描述现实世界的有效方法,可以为政策制定和辅助决策提供支持。地球环境系统具有综合性、复杂性等特性,蕴含大量动态的化学、生物和物理过程,并受到复杂的人类活动影响,因此对地球环境系统进行模拟是一件及其困难的事情。在对地球环境系统进行建模时,需要整合与集成来自多个学科的知识,研究跨学科建模的方法和技术。建模和模拟研究在未来地球(FE)、虚拟地理环境(VGE)、电子科学和面向服务的体系结构(SOA)的支撑下,促进了模型、数据及其他模拟资源在开放式网络下的共享、重用和集成,进一步为地球环境建模与模拟提供了支撑。
          环境可持续发展是亚洲目前面临的最大问题及挑战。亚洲拥有世界上最多的人口和最大的面积,包括近50个发达及发展中国家。本次iEMSs亚洲区域会议旨在讨论和探索亚洲环境可持续发展相关理论、方法和技术,促进多学科领域专家学者之间的交流,鼓励专家学者之间进行协同合作,共同创造美好的未来。

    学生奖学金及青年学者旅行资助


    为鼓励学生及青年学者参会,在南京师范大学地理科学学院的资助下,本次大会共设有6个最高400美元的学生奖学金及青年学者旅行资助名额。

    申请方式

    奖学金和旅行资助仅适用于没有终身教职的学生和青年学者(截至申请时),且申请者必须提交论文全文并确认参加本次会议。奖项的选拔会考虑鼓励更多国家的参会代表参与本次会议。

    注意:当提交的会议论文有多个作者时,只有第一作者可以获奖

    Prof. Daniel Ames

    Topic: Forecasting streamflow in every river in the world using global climate models

    Prof. Daniel. P. Ames (Dan) is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, USA where his work in the Hydroinformatics Research Group includes open source geographic information systems (GIS), hydrological modelling, time series data management and visualization, and data sharing and discovery in environmental science. Dr. Ames developed the widely used MapWindow and DotSpatial open source GIS libraries and has been involved in the development of the CUAHSI Hydrologic Information System, HydroShare, HydroDesktop, BASINS, and the Tethys Platform for developing GIS enabled environmental web applications. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the highly ranked Elsevier journal, Environmental Modelling & Software and is currently President of the International Environmental Modelling & Software Society (iEMSs). His 52 peer-reviewed research articles have attracted nearly 2000 citations.



    Prof. Michael Barton

    Topic: The Open Modeling Foundation: an International Community for Integrative Modeling of Human-Earth System Dynamics

    Prof. C. Michael Barton is Director of the Center for Social Dynamics and Complexity, Professor in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, Affiliate Professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration, and Senior Sustainability Scientist at Arizona State University (USA). His research centers around long-term human ecology and landscape dynamics, integrating computational modeling, geospatial technologies, and data science with geoarchaeological field work. Barton has directed transdisciplinary research on hunter-gatherers and small-holder farmers in the ancient Mediterranean for over two decades, and co-directs research on human-environmental interactions in the modern world in collaboration with the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He also heads CoMSES Net (the Network for Computational Modeling in Social and Ecological Sciences), an international research network to promote accessibility, open science, and best practices for computation in the socio-ecological sciences.



    Prof. Paul Whitehead

    Topic: Multidisciplinary Modelling of Integrated Catchment Dynamics for Sustainable management and Planning

    Prof. Paul Whitehead is Professor of Water Science in Oxford University and has degrees in chemical and control engineering plus a PhD from Cambridge on water resource and pollution modelling. He has over 35 years of experience in managing 47 research projects, funded by government research organisations and departments, including NERC, EPSRC, ESRC, EU, DEFRA, DFID, EA. He also has extensive international experience working for the World Bank, Water Companies, WWF, River Ganges Commission and consultancy organisations such as WS Atkins. He has published 210 papers in international journals, has 5780 citations and an H Index of 39. He has recently been Director of the £10.5 million NERC Macronutrient Cycles programme and has worked extensively on Asian projects in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand and China. He has been the lead PI in Oxford on the NERC/ESRC/DFID funded ESPA DELTAs project and he has been responsible for developing the INCA flow and water quality model. This model has been applied extensively to rivers in the UK and across the EU as well as many Asian Rivers (eg Ganges, Brahmaputra, Meghna, Mekong and several upland rivers in Nepal). Paul Whitehead has also been Managing Director of Water Resource Associates LLP (see www.watres.com ), a water resource company that has been successfully operating for 24 years.



    Mr. Trevor Taylor

    Topic: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (F.A.I.R.) data and models; the Role of Geospatial Standards.


    Mr. Trevor Taylor is currently responsible for Services for Asia and the Americas, has over 30 years of experience in the international Earth Observation community. With a background in Geography (Carleton University, Canada), Mr. Taylor has worked with governments and commercial organizations on a wide variety of projects and initiatives related to disasters management, agriculture modeling, forestry, mining, oceans, hydrology, public safety and other domains. Mr. Taylor has significant global experience in a wide variety of technical, client services, project, business and strategic planning activities particularly in North and South America, South and South East Asia, North Asia and Western Europe.

    Prof. Bojie Fu

    Topic: Coupled Human-Nature System for Sustainability

    Prof. Bojie Fu is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an academician of the World Academy of Sciences, and a foreign associate of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, UK. He presently serves as researcher and academic committee director of the Academic Committee of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Director of the Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University. He is also hold a concurrent post of the director of the Department of Geosciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the director of the Department of Earth Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is the chairman of the China Geography Society, the vice chairman of the International Geographical Union, and the deputy director of the National Ecological Protection and Construction Expert Committee. His mainly research area is physical geography and landscape ecology research, and achieved systematic innovation achievements in land use structure and ecological processes, landscape ecology and ecosystem services. He has published more than 400 academic papers, including more than 250 papers published in SCI journals such as Science, Nature geoscience, and Nature climate change, and published 10 books. He has won the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, the Second Award of the Scientific and Technological Progress of the State, the Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award of the International Landscape Ecology Society. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Geographical Science, Acta Ecologica Sinica and Advances in Earth Science, Editor of the Journal of Landscape Ecology, Landscape and Urban Planning, Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability.



    Prof. SeongJoon Kim

    Topic: Environmental Modeling for Korea-Specified Watershed Scale Water Resources Management

    Prof. SeongJoon Kim is Professor of Konkuk University, Civil and Environmental Engineering in Seoul, South Korea. He is now serving as President of Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers (2018~2019). He has over 30 years of research experiences related to hydrology, water quality, aqua-ecology modeling using GIS and Remote Sensing technologies. Research activities include: (1) climate change studies of future hydrology and water quality to adapt and mitigate the impacts on watershed; (2) distributed storm runoff modeling coupling with weather radar data; (3) evaluating best management practices for reducing nonpoint source pollution discharge loads from agricultural watershed. Recent work included the future heavy snowfall impact on agricultural facilities. His current research is the cause identification of drying streams through distributed continuous hydrological modeling with several decades data development of land use change, forest density, road construction, groundwater use, and soil erosion processes. His degrees are from Seoul National University (B, MS, and Ph.D of Agr Eng). He has over 400 publications in both popular and refereed International and Korean journals.



    Prof. Kazuhito Ichii

    Topic: Model-Data Synthesis Toward Better Understanding of Terrestrial Carbon Cycle in Asia


    Prof. Ichii's research focus is integrative analysis of terrestrial  carbon and water cycles across regional, continental and global  scales. Using ground observation network, remote sensing data, and  terrestrial ecosystem modeling, Prof. Ichii has been working on  understanding of terrestrial carbon budget based on model-data  integration, machine-learning data-driven estimation, and model  intercomparison. Prof. Ichii has been serving as a chair of JapanFlux,  network of tower-based observation of terrestrial energy, water, and  carbon fluxes since Jan 2018, and a coordinated lead author (CLA) of  chapter 2 of Global Assessment of Intergovernmental Science‑Policy  Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem (IPBES). 



    Prof. Shie-Yui Liong

    Topic: Overcoming Lack of Data for Flood Hazard Assessment: Cost-Effective High Quality DEM and Rainfall Proxy

    Prof. Liong’s most recent research focus is on climate downscaling for Southeast Asia domain and deriving valuable information from the downscaled climate to evaluate the impacts of climate change on water resources, flooding, drought, crop yields, etc. He has been commissioned twice, consecutively, by the government of Singapore (NEA, and BCA) to undertake climate change studies (Vulnerability Study, 2007 – 2009, main Principal Investigator; Risk Map Study, 2010 - 2014, Co-PI). He is currently an editor of Journal of Environmental Science and Policy and was an editor of Journal of Hydroinformatics. He was the President of Hydrological Science Section of AOGS (2008-2010), and Chairman of Joint IAHR-IWA-IAHS Hydroinfomatics Committee (2009-2012). He is a Council member of Asia Water Council. Dr. Liong is a 3-time recipient of the Best Paper Award of IAHR-APD Congress (1994, 2002 and 2012. In 2007 he was awarded by the President of Federal Republic of Germany the Order of Merit (“Bundesverdienstkreuz”). He has been invited to give various talks. The most recent ones are (1) Distinguished Lecture at 10th Asia-Oceania Geosciences Society meeting in Brisbane, Australia (2013), (2) Plenary Talk at the 10th Hydroinformatics Conference, New York City, USA (2014), and (3) Keynote at the 21st Congress of IAHR-APD (International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research, Asia Pacific Division) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2018).



    Prof. Bo Huang

    Topic: Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression (GTWR) for urban and environmental data analysis

    Prof. Bo Huang is the associate director of Institute of Space and Earth Information Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is Chang Jiang Scholar Chair Professor (Ministry of Education of PR China), director of MSc program in GeoInformation Science of CUHK and President of Hong Kong Society of Remote Sensing. He won Hong Kong ICT Awards 2018 - Smart People Award with “TouchAir: A mobile APP for real-time estimation of ubiquitous air pollution concentrations”. He has more than 150 SCI/SSCI journal articles. His research interests are smart cities, spatio-temporal big data analytics, GIS for sustainable urban/transportation/land use planning, unified image fusion for sustainable urban environment, spatial statistics for land use change modeling and multi-objective optimization for spatial planning with consideration of vulnerability and resilience.



    Prof. Min Chen

    Topic: What OpenGMS Can Contribute to Geographic Research

    Prof. Min Chen is a full professor and the Vice Director of Key Lab of Virtual Geographic Environment (Ministry of Education of PRC), Nanjing Normal University, China. He is also the PI of Thousand Talents program for Young Scholars of China (Funded as the key level), PI of NSF for Excellent Young Scholars of China, Distinguished professor of Jiangsu province, group leader of Innovative and entrepreneurial talent group of Jiangsu Province, and the Innovative personality of Jiangsu province. He also serves as the co-chairman for VGE committee of the International Society for Digital Earth, the executive editor of Annals of GIS (an official journal of CPGIS), East Asia Director of AAG Asian Geography special group, a member of broad of directors of CPGIS, a broad member of International Environmental Modelling and Software Society, the secretary general of National University's Talent Base Introduction Program (Nanjing Normal University). He was the former secretary for AAG GIScience and Systems Specialty Group (2016-2018). He has won the Young Researcher Award in GIScience awarded by Austrian Academy of Sciences, 1 First Prize and 1 Second Prize in Natural Science awarded by the Ministry of Education of China, 1 Second Prize in Natural Science awarded by the Education department of Jiangsu province, and also the 6th university innovative personality in GIS in China.

    Prof. Xia Li
    华东师范大学教授

    Topic: Estimating the pressure of urban shrinkage at a global scale under the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) using cellular automata

    Prof. Xia Li is professor at School of Geographic Sciences, East China Normal University, Shanghai, P.R. China. He received ChangJiang scholarship and the award of the Distinguished Youth Fund of NSFC in 2005. Dr. Li is currently on the editorial boards of the international journals of International Journal of Geographical Information Science, Landscape and Urban Planning, and Computers, Environment and Urban Systems. He has published more than 200 academic papers, of which many appeared in top international journals. His major research interests include land-use change monitoring, cellular automata, spatial optimization, and global land use models and impact analysis. His papers have been widely published in top international GIS and remote sensing journals, such as Remote Sensing of Environment, Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, International Journal of Remote Sensing, International Journal of Geographical Information Science, Environment and Planning A, and Environment and Planning B. He is among the list of Chinese Most Cited Researchers for 2014-2018. He was awarded with the TWAS Prize in Earth Sciences for 2013 by the World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries (TWAS), for his distinguished contribution to the development of cellular automata and agent-based models for land-use simulation and planning for sustainable land development in China.



    Prof. Xin Li

    Topic: Watershed system model: The essentials to model complex human-nature system at the river basin scale

    Prof. Xin Li is a professor at Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). His primary research interests include land data assimilation, application of remote sensing and GIS in hydrological and cryospheric sciences, and integrated watershed study. He received the B.S. degree in GIS and Cartography from Nanjing University in 1992 and the Ph.D. degree in Remote Sensing and GIS from CAS in 1998. He is a member of WCRP GEWEX scientific steering committee, a member of the International Science Advisory Panel of Global Water Futures programme, and the secretary general of the UNESCO IHP G-WADI (Water and Development Information for Arid Lands-A Global Network) Asia network. He is in the editorial board of Journal of Hydrology, Science Bulletin, Vadose Zone Journal, Remote Sensing, Big Earth Data and other international journals. He has published over 320 journal articles (SCI > 180) and coauthored 8 books. Total citations to these publications are 12,000+ and h-inde.



    Prof. Jinfeng Wang

    Topic: Mapping of Diseases

    Prof. Jinfeng Wang is Professor of State Key Laboratory of Resources & Environmental Information System, Institute of Geographic Science and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, PRC. He was granted BS in Geography, MS in Thermodynamics, and PHD in GIScience; experienced PostDr research in Vienna, Sheffield, Cambridge and Canberra, respectively. His areas of specialization are innovation in theory in spatial sampling and statistical inference, with applications in environment science and population health. Prof Wang coined the concept of spatial stratified heterogeneity (SSH) and developed a series of tools to measure, attribute, and statistics for SSH (www.geodetector.cn); He with his team have stipulated the PRC National Standard of Spatial Sampling and Statistical Inference (www.sssampling.cn). Prof Wang chairs Chinese Geographical Society Commission on Geographical Modelling & Geographical Information Analysis, Chinese GIS Association Commission in Theory and Methods, is standing member of International Geographical Union Committee in Geographical Modelling. Prof Wang is board members of the prestigious international Journals: Spatial Statistics (Elsevier) , International Journal of Geographical Information Science (Taylor), Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment (Springer), Journal of Geographical Systems (Taylor), Geographical Analysis (Wiley), Geographica Sinica (in Chinese) and Journal of Remote Sensing (in Chinese). He has published 16 books in Chinese and English, and more than 170 ISI list peer reviewed papers in international Journals.



    Prof. Tianxiang Yue

    Topic: The fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling and Its applications

    Prof. TianXiang YUE is the head and a professor of Department for Ecological and Environmental Informatics at LREIS, IGSNRR of CAS. He is also working as a leading professor of Ecological and Environmental Informatics at UCAS. He has innovatively proposed the Fundamental Theorem for Modelling Earth’s Surface Systems and its corollaries of spatial interpolation, spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, data fusion and model-data assimilation.



    Prof. Qiuhong Tang

    Topic: Global Change Hydrology and Integrated Human-Water Modeling

    Prof. Qiuhong Tang is a Professor in Hydrology at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and director of the Key Laboratory of Water Cycle and Related Land Surface Processes, CAS. He presently serves as associate editor of Journal of Hydrometeorology, Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews: Water, Journal of Geographical Sciences, editor of Remote Sensing, and editorial board member of Science China Earth Sciences. He is a Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellow.

    Prof. Huadong Guo

    Prof. GUO Huadong is a Professor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI), an Academician of CAS, a Foreign Member of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), and a Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He presently serves as President of the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE), Director of the International Center on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage (HIST) under the Auspices of UNESCO, and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Digital Earth. He served as President of ICSU Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA). He has over 30 years of experience in Earth observation, specializing in radar remote sensing and Digital Earth science. He has been Principle Investigator for over 30 major national projects in China, and Principle Investigator for 7 international radar remote sensing projects. Prof. Guo has published more than 400 papers and sixteen books, and is the principal awardee of sixteen domestic and international prizes.
